Intentional Finishes

I’ll update you on the progress at our modern renovation in the Back Bay and show you a few examples of what intentionally designed flat wall finishes look like.

INTENTIONALLY DESIGNED WALL FINISHES

NS Builders focuses on really listening to our clients—and super flat walls were on the top of this homeowner’s wish list. We’re known for exacting dead flat wall finishes. And here’s why it is so critical to make sure that is the end result.

This is a modern, contemporary home and all the finishes need to be flat. Perfectly flat walls set the painters up for success. And with a giant skylight pouring in natural light onto the walls in the kitchen, every tiny imperfection would become glaring. And behind our walls in the living room next to the fireplace, there are plastered-in speakers. In addition, throughout this home, some devices are hidden behind the plaster and painted walls.

So how do we ensure we’ve got super flat walls?

FLAT WALLS DON’T HAPPEN BY ACCIDENT

At NS Builders, we go the extra mile—and shine the extra light—to make sure the walls are flat. Once the walls are primed with paint, the inspection process begins with some serious lights. You methodically walk around with lights shining on every section of wall, searching for any imperfections, scratches, or embedded dust in the primer—the things you’d never see otherwise. And then you make micro repairs to the surfaces. You work it, work it, work it—until it’s as close to perfection as you can get. And then you paint. I had the client join me to walk through the wall inspection right after the primer and then again just before the final coat of paint. We want the client to be delighted, and we want to chalk up another killer job.

It’s time to discover what NS Builders can intentionally craft for you! Contact us today to get started on your custom dream home. Together, we can make it happen.
