LIGHTING MADE SIMPLE

We’re installing the Lutron lighting control panel under the staircase. This intelligent system will give the homeowner complete control over all of the home’s lighting (versus a single switch system). Using keypads placed throughout the home, just one button can turn on multiple dimmers, choose the right brightness level—and not just in a single room, but all the lights in the entire home. Keypads eliminate the need for multiple switches—convenience just got a massive upgrade! Before the keypad buttons get engraved, the homeowner will live in the space for a few weeks and figure out exactly what lighting options they want. Then we’ll send the engraving specs off to Lutron. 

DON’T SWEAT WHAT YOU CAN’T CONTROL

This renovation has been quite complex—whenever you’re building a home within the existing walls, confines, and conditions of a multifamily building such as this—there’s always snags that pop up. And we’ve had to adapt along the way. For example, some of our light fixtures have gotten delayed. It’s frustrating, but out of our control. What we can control is how we adjust and pivot the schedule to keep moving ahead. In this case, we’re working with the electrician to get the electrical inspector to sign off on our current state so we can start insulating. And we’re looking for ways to begin installing the wall paneling for the architectural millwork portion of the project.
