Beautiful Oak Floors at Our Back Bay Project

UPSCALE OAK FLOORS

The oak floors are nearly complete—and they perfectly complement the upscale, but never uptight, vibe of this modern home. A white stain has been applied as well as two clear coats; a final buffing and last coat and these floors will be done. It’s got a super cool muted oak look which works so well with the entire design aesthetic. And the HVAC vents are discreetly placed in the floors—small metal grills that are epoxied in. Very intentional in design and installation—a detail I know the homeowner is going to love.

ALWAYS PROTECT YOUR WORK

When we’re this far along in completing a project, the last thing you want to see is some of the finishes getting scratched or damaged. That is why we spend time and effort protecting the corners of painted walls, floors, countertops, and even the stair treads. For example, we took great care in protecting the leading edge of the new stairs. Workers are going to be going up and down the stairs with their work boots on. So, in addition to a runner going down the stairs, we also used corner protectors on the front edge. You can pick these corner protectors up at a package supply store; they work wonders on saving the finished edges of doors, plastered corners, and even stairs.

You’ve invested the time and materials into building something beautiful—make sure it stays that way as you complete the project.
